Experience a grounded, therapeutic approach to sound-based healing practices

Faye Mallett is a therapeutic sound practitioner offering 1:1 sessions at Aestra Counselling & Wellness that support nervous system regulation, embodied presence and restorative rest. Her work combines live resonant instruments with gentle, supportive guidance to help ease the physical, mental and emotional strains of modern life.

Best described as a therapeutic approach to sound healing, these sessions are designed for people seeking rest and regulation. Rather than aiming to “fix” or transform, this work focuses on creating the conditions in which the body and nervous system can settle and reorganize naturally.

Why Therapeutic Sound

Modern life often moves faster than our nervous systems can integrate. Over time, this can show up as tension, fatigue, overwhelm or a sense of disconnection.

Sound works by offering the nervous system a stable, resonant environment, allowing the body to recalibrate naturally, without verbal processing or mental effort.

Many people describe the experience of a therapeutic sound treatment as being quietly restorative and clarifying.

Therapeutic sound can support:

  • Nervous system restoration and down regulation from stress states

  • Deep rest and physical relaxation

  • Gentle reconnection with the body

  • A greater sense of grounded presence

Who These Sessions Are For

Therapeutic sound sessions may be supportive if you:

  • Feel overstimulated, fatigued or burned out

  • Are navigating periods of transition or emotional load

  • Want rest without having to talk or explain

  • Are curious about sound-based healing and prefer a grounded, straightforward approach

What This Work Is — and Is Not

This work is trauma-informed and complementary, but it is not counselling, psychotherapy or coaching.

Therapeutic sound sessions may complement other modalities, including counselling, somatic therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychedelic integration or mindfulness-based work by supporting regulation and embodied awareness.

FREE SESSION OFFER

To support accessibility and allow people to experience this work without pressure, a limited number of free sessions are currently offered at Aestra Counselling & Wellness. Sessions are booked on a rolling, first come first served basis.

These sessions are offered as an invitation to explore whether therapeutic sound feels supportive for you as a complementary healing modality.

Who I Am

A woman smiling and looking at a hanging display of various types of nuts strung on wires, held on a wooden frame.

Hello, my name is Faye.
I’m a therapeutic sound practitioner working with sound, slowness, and presence to support nervous system regulation and mind-body coherence.

My background spans mindfulness-based practices, sound facilitation and work within wellness and studio environments. I approach this work with care, restraint and respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe that conditions for change can be nurtured when the body can rest, restore and respond on its own terms.

For this reason, I work with sound in an intentionally simple and slow way, by design. Meeting you where you are, with presence.

What I Offer

I offer 1:1 Therapeutic Sound Sessions—peaceful, non-directive experiences where you are invited to rest while live sound is played in a supportive, attuned way.

Sessions Typically Involve:

  • Resting comfortably (lying down or seated)

  • Gentle guidance to support settling and presence

  • Live sound using singing bowls and other percussive, resonant instruments

There is nothing you need to do or achieve. This is an experience of being supported in stillness.
